Happy Monday everyone,
Thank you for subscribing to Wu Fei’s Music Daily. This is episode #353 — The orchid of Sicily 西西里的兰花花
I have been wanting to share this recording with you for a long time. It was from a festival I played in Penice, Italy in 2006 with a group of friends. This recording was actually from our sound check and has never been released. The piece is a mixture of a folk song called Lan Hua Hua 兰花花 from the northwest China and a folk song from Sicily, Italy.
The musicians: Piano by Giovanni Serani (Italy), bamboo flute by Guo Yue (UK/China), guitar by Beppe Gambetta (Italy), bass by Guido Ponzini (Italy), singer Patrizia Laquidara (Italy), percussion by Fulvio Maras (Italy).
During that trip, I also recorded my first solo album A Distant Youth in Parma.
Hope this track starts your week with joy.
