This piece was composed and recorded yesterday on two-track piano and two-track voice performed by me. I gave myself an assignment —stay on the black keys. That’s how I started the first phrase on E flat. The rest of the story became the recording.

Podophyllum, common names are mayapples, wild mandrake, and ground lemon. It is widespread across most of the eastern United States and southeastern Canada. They remind me of the illustrations in Dr. Seuss’ books.
