Happy Friday everyone,
Thank you for subscribing to Wu Fei’s Music Daily. This is episode #338 — Queen bee piping 蜂王祭.
This guzheng etude was created and recorded yesterday.
Queen bee piping is the noise that a queen bee makes during swarming, but also when she is being asphyxiated by worker bees if she’s is found by strange swarm, or has reached the age that she no longer produces eggs.
I learned about this natural phenomenon from a bee keeper’s video and it stunned me. After sharing this experience with my children, my children reminded me that the animal world is full of violence and cannibalism, such as the female pray mantis eating the male after mating, in order to feed her babies.
May 31 Monday is Memorial Day in the U.S.. I will take that day off as well. The next newsletter will resume on June 1st, which will be the International Children’s Day.
Wishing you all a fun and restful weekend!
