This piece was created and recorded yesterday on multitrack guzheng, performed by me. I would like to dedicate this composition to a dear friend of mine — Jana.
Jana and I have known each other for twenty one years. She was my first friend in the U.S. when I arrived in Texas in 2000. She was an alto soprano in college at the time when I was doing my composition degree. We were both in our junior year. Jana was very fun to be around with. She knew everyone in town. I went to many fun places with her in Texas. When I was going through hard time, Jana was always the first person I called. She was always there for me, and made sure I was comfortable and safe wherever I was.
In 2002, I moved to California from Texas to start graduate school. Jana and I lost contact. Recently we have been reconnected. I am so happy!
