Debussy’s guzheng

Good morning everyone,

Thank you for subscribing to Wu Fei’s Music Daily. This is the 227th episode — Debussy’s guzheng.

It was recorded yesterday. Debussy’s music has been a big influence to me since I was a teenager. The first time when I learned his music, I thought “wow, that sounds like guzheng music!” Since then, I’ve always wondered if Debussy knew the guzheng, he would’ve loved the instrument. Literally all his music sounds like guzheng to me. Impressionism is probably the closest word to describe what my inner image is like when I think about Debussy’s music, which is like a traditional Chinese ink painting from hundreds of years ago.

The Carolina horsenettle in the forest from this morning. Tough little berries in freezing cold morning! They’ve got brown hair too ;-)
