This solo improvisation was recorded yesterday on guzheng and vocal performed by me. Three years ago, my husband planted these bamboos near our home (see photo below). This summer, for the first time we see new bamboo shoots coming out. They are growing incredibly fast. Within a few days, it grew from one foot to about ten feet. As a person who grew up in a big city, I am amazed by nature everyday.
When you receive this newsletter, I will be on the road heading to Chautauqua, NY with my family. In the evening of June 30, I will give my first out-of-state concert at Chautauqua Institution since the pandemic started in March 2020. Concert detail is here. While I am on the road, I’ll continue to my daily composition posts. It will be an exciting trip and I can’t wait to turn this new experience into my creativity!
