Good morning everyone,
Thank you for subscribing to Wu Fei’s Music Daily! This is the 289th episode — A busy sky.
This piece was composed and recorded yesterday on prepared multitrack guzheng. I put several metal key chain rings on the guzheng strings (one ring on one string). I also used a small thin silk bag and weaved it through the lowest five strings on the guzheng. Therefore, the lowest register is muted when the mid-range is amplified with pitch/tone color changed. The highest register is un-prepared. I have been a big fan of counterpoint compositional approach. This track is a mini fugue.
In music, a fugue is a contrapuntal compositional technique in two or more voices, built on a subject that is introduced at the beginning in imitation and which recurs frequently in the course of the composition.
Hope this piece brings you a moment of peace.
