#709 — Tritone cups 田三彩

This 3-track guzheng piece was created and recorded yesterday after I saw these golden fungi in the forest. They are called Neofavolus alveolaris. It is a species of polypore fungus in the family Polyporaceae. According to Wikipedia, it is widely distributed in the temperate areas of the Northern Hemisphere. Its kidney- or fan-shaped fruit bodies measure 1–8 cm (0.4–3.1 in) in diameter. Initially reddish, they become cream to white when dry. The pores on the cap underside are angular to hexagonal and relatively large (0.5–3 mm diameter). The fungus causes a white rot in hardwoods.

I love the different color tones from the sun shining on the bottom of the mushroom. Its incredible details triggered me to hear multi-colored sonic intervals in my head like what created in this piece.

Wish you all an adventurous weekend!
