Concert as part of the festival NOW! "Horizons"
After 2007, the English composer, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Fred Frith and his guest musicians once again dare the experiment of improvising together for a week, breaking their own limits and getting rid of old habits. The result: Jazz at its best!
"Clearing Customs" is the reduced version of a project that began in 2007 at the SWR in Baden-Baden as part of the New Jazz Meeting and which resulted in the album "Clearing Customs" in 2011. The music is based on a 75-minute composition by Fred Frith, which was improvised by all the guest musicians involved in the project. In addition to traditional jazz instruments such as guitar and trumpet, Asian instruments such as guzheng and tablas were also used.
As part of the NOW! Festival 2022, the project will finally be repeated!
