#659 — Guzheng night song 35 古筝夜曲第三十五号

I am excited to share that I have finished orchestrating the full symphony version of my chamber ensemble work Hello Gold Mountain. I am sure I will revise more later, but the beast is there! It will be premiered by Lehigh University Symphony Orchestra at Baker Hall in Zoellner Arts Center on February 11th, Saturday 7:30pm, 2023.

A symphony work is a universe itself, full of surprises, adventures and coherences structured by one person’s logical and emotional choices. The result is delivered collectively by the most number of humans in music performing activity.

Today’s night song was recorded yesterday. I was thinking about the women in Iran right now while I created this piece. Thinking of them gave me enormous strength that my right hand played through a 6:40-minute double-tremolo (thumb and middle finger) in one take. I broke my own record.

Wish you all a peaceful weekend!

Yesterday, I encountered this spider web that was covered with fuzzy dandelion florets. I used myself as a background color so the spider web and the white florets could be seen better in the photo.
