Dear all, and especially friends in Seattle area,

I am excited to share with you about a new exhibition that I am humbly featured among many amazing artists. The exhibit is a collaboration between The Music of Asian American Research Center (MAARC) and the Wing Luke Museum in Seattle. A big thank to musicologist Dr. Eric Hung for inviting me to be part of this incredible project!

This exhibition explores the role music has played in Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander lives & communities as an element of cultural heritage/identity, a form of personal/creative expression, a commercial industry, a connecting/healing force, and an integral part of thriving communities and culture.

The interactive exhibit includes behind the scenes-photos, framed artworks, podcasts, artifacts, storylines, audio, and videos that feature AANHPI artists’ expressions of cultural identity.

Sound Check! The Music We Make reflects the Wing Luke Museum’s mission to highlight personal stories from while connecting the community to the dynamic history, cultures and art of AANHPI through vivid storytelling and inspiring experiences to advance racial and social equity.

The Wing Luke Museum is in Seattle’s Chinatown-international district, Washington, United States. It focuses on the culture, art and history of Asian Pacific Americans. Established in 1967, the museum is a Smithsonian Institution affiliate and the only pan-Asian Pacific American community-based museum in the country. The museum is named for Seattle City Council member Wing Luke, the first Asian American elected to public office in the Pacific Northwest in the 1960s.
