#641 — The wine of life keeps oozing drop by drop

I improvised this solo guzheng piece yesterday after reading Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám (1048 - 1311), was a polymath, known for his contributions to mathematics, astronomy, philosophy, and Persian poetry. He was born in Nishapur, the initial capital of the Seljuk Empire. As a scholar, he was contemporary with the rule of the Seljuk dynasty around the time of the First Crusade.

Whether at Naishápúr or Babylon, whether the Cup with sweet or bitter run, The Wine of Life keeps oozing drop by drop, The Leaves of Life keep falling one by one.

An excerpt from the poem that moved me to tears. English translation by British poet Edward FitzGerald (1809-1883).
