This composition was created yesterday on multitrack guzheng, performed by me.
The scale is a combination of major, minor and the Balinese gamelan scale. The timbre is a mixture of open strings and half muted overtones.
The photo below is of a Chinese vase that I saw in The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York last month. It is from the Qing Dynasty Kangxi mark and period (1662-1722).
The ladies in the painting look like they are having a great time hanging out together!
