#1067 — Vivid 无声红叶

Hi everyone,

I have returned home from Louisville. Thank you for being patient with me again while I was on tour!

In Louisville, I saw some dear old friends and made many new friends during the Festival of Faiths. It was an inspiring experience for me to meet festival goers who came to Louisville to connect and share their life stories in the most vulnerable way. Music helped everyone to become connected instantly whether they knew each other or not. The concert venues I played were filled with laughter and tears of joy during the three days I was there. Music had unlocked so many people’s knots. I am overjoyed to be able to help many to feel uplifted and hopeful again.

A special thanks to Louisville Public Media featuring me on its NPR program WUOL - “Wu Fei brings a balance off tradition, experimentation and exploration to Louisville”. You can hear the full interview here.

Hope this piece brings you peace and hope!

The deep red leaves shining in the sky right now in the forest near my home in Nashville.

Above is a short clip of my performance of Wusuli Boat Song opening the 28th annual celebration of Festival of Faiths in Cathedral of the Assumption on November 13th, 2024.

With good friend Sara Callaway (violinist and director of Louisville Academy of Music) in the green room for our panel to start in the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts)

I had a fantastic time performing and sharing my stories with the performing art and music professionals at the South Arts Conference at the Mohammad Ali Center.
Feeling grateful for Sara Callaway (L 1, music curator of Festival of Faiths), the brilliant Will Oldham whose song I see a Darkness was covered by music legend Johnny Cash in 2000 (L 2), and the generous Christy Brown and Owsley Brown II Family Foundation (center)
