#1065 — Red air crescendo 丹气临高木

Good morning everyone,

Hope you all had a restful weekend. Two days ago, I was woken up by a touch of warm air on my face in the morning. I slowly opened my eyes to seek where the warmth came from. I saw the sky full of colors outside of my window (photo below). I was overjoyed. This three-track guzheng composition is my memory of this breathtaking experience. It reminded me a poem from the Weijin period 魏晋 (220 - 420 A.D.) in China written by Zhang Xie 张协:

朝霞迎白日,丹气临汤谷。

翳翳结繁云,森森散雨足。

轻风摧劲草,凝霜竦高木。

Translation:

The morning glow greets the sun, and the red air descends upon the valley.

The clouds gather thickly, and the rain falls thickly.

The breeze destroys the strong grass, and the frost shakes the tall trees.
