#1058 — Poem in the sky 诗情到碧霄

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying a beautiful autumn if it is the season for you right now. The colors in middle Tennessee are glorious. Hiking on the top of the west Nashville hill has given me immense joy to appreciate the fall colors in all settings. It reminds me of one of the Autumn Poems by one of my favorite Tang poets - Liu Yuxi 刘禹锡 (772 - 842 AD):

自古逢秋悲寂寥,我言秋日胜春朝。
晴空一鹤排云上,便引诗情到碧霄。

Translation:

Since ancient times, people have felt sad and lonely in autumn, but I say autumn is better than spring. A crane flies above the clouds in the clear sky, bringing poetic sentiment to the blue sky.

As you listen to this piece, I will be on my way to London to have my UK solo debut at the British Library on Oct.28. Click here for concert info. And then, I will give another concert followed by Q & A on the 29th at the University of London SOAS Gallery. Click here for info.

I will resume my newsletter next weekend when I return home. Thank you all very much for your support and patience!
