Hi everyone,
This solo guzheng composition was recorded yesterday. I was thinking about the gorgeous fall in the southeast of U.S. where my state of Tennessee is. It has been a heavy time for eastern Tennessee, western North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida because of the destruction of hurricane Helene. In the next 24 hours, Hurricane Milton will land on Florida. I have many friends who live in all of the affected states. When Nashville is having a perfect day, only a few hours away, towns were wiped out and lives were lost.
My good friend / incredible fiddler Casey Driessen, who I have collaborated with many times, lives in Asheville, North Carolina, which was hit hard by Hurricane Helene. Although his family and house survived, many of their neighbors and friends' homes were damaged or even washed away by the flood.
Casey's bluegrass band will perform an online live benefit concert in Bervard, North Carolina at 7:30 pm (EST) this Friday Oct. 11th. All donations will be used to rescue the victims who are most affected and in need.

I have a deep connection with North Carolina. I have toured there many times, including last year performing with the Philadelphia Orchestra in Chapel Hill, which I have dreamed of since I was a child. These are important moments in my musical life. North Carolina loves me, I love North Carolina.
