I love Chinese ink painting, too. I dabbled in it during the pandemic. Have you tried it? It's a really different experience for me from music. Your notes still have so much clarity and the texture quite crisp even without finger picks!
Ink paining, calligraphy and origami were part of my elementary school curriculum in Beijing. They were the most fun and messy classes I had (ink stains on my hands + face and paper everywhere after the classes :D) I'd love to start doing them again! 琴棋书画，本是一体。
