House of Wu Fei Live Recording Released | Europe Tour 2025

Happy Friday everyone,

In March 2024, I premiered a new project called House of Wu Fei at Ha Concerts in Gent in Belgium. My first visit to this beautiful Flemish city was in 2009 when I was invited to perform and co-program a week-long festival called the Europalia Festival at the historical De Vooruit building where many legendary artists have played, including Nirvana, Patti Smith, Wu-Tang Clan, Sheryl Crow, Black Sabbath, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, John Zorn etc. I was amazed by the vibrant music, art, and cultural scenes in Gent. A year later, the Flemish musicians I had collaborated with came to China. We toured in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Beijing in the summer of 2010.

So it was a joy to return in 2024, and I am delighted to now share a live recording of the premiere of House of Wu Fei . You can listen to the music and read more about all the incredible musicians on the SoundCloud link below.

House of Wu Fei: 'Tides and Time'

Ha Concerts brought Chinese Guzheng player, composer and singer Wu Fei into contact with three talents from the Belgian's creative music scene. Using ancient Chinese poetry and the waves as their guide, they create their own sonic poem to experience together with the audience.

This album documents a singular moment of creative confluence, where four distinct musical voices found common ground in the universal language of tidal rhythms and poetic expression.
