I composed this guzheng piece yesterday inspired by the first millipede I saw this year. There is an old idiom in Chinese 千里之行, 始于足下. It means “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
Thank you all for your generous support from all over the world! This daily music project has changed my life in a significant and profound way. Everyday I get in a zone (when I’m home, not traveling) when I de-attach, re-tune, sound-cleansing whatever you call it. With a little new piece, I can connect to many of you in a second. I am preparing for another concert residency that is coming up next week. It will be with Bellingham Symphony in Washington state. I will resume my daily recording after February 27th when I return to my home.
