#635 — Cloud chrysanthemum 云菊

This guzheng improvisation was created yesterday. I was thinking about my mother when I was playing. Since she and my father moved to Nashville from Beijing in 2019, their health has improved tremendously. As their daughter, I feel happy, lucky and proud that I can take good care of them when they are old. We do argue like all families (less and less :). My mother can only say sweet things to me, about me. She feels bad that them being here causes me and my husband trouble because my parents can’t read English nor drive. Yesterday, I had to call their pharmacy twice to sort out some problem for her prescription. She kept texting me to apologize to me right before I was about record this piece. I sent her back a sweet message to tell her not to worry at all. She has a very sweet name in Chinese. It means cloud chrysanthemum. I want to dedicate this piece to all the mothers in the world.
