Really beautiful.. the reverberation through the guzheng brings a mythic, deeply moving quality to your voice. Thank you!

I do feel “天人合一" when I sing this way - harmony between humans and nature become one.

listening to you sing, one can feel it in your voice. 🙏

while i love listening to your guzheng pieces, the ones where you sing are exceptionally extraordinary!

Thank you and I know what you mean. I’m blessed with this gift that I did not intend to have such a connection with myself and with other humans. I always thought of myself as an instrumentalist , a composer, even a music theorist before a singer. How magical life can be when it takes you to a new dimension.

Some European folk songs could be called “arguing through music”, often in sparring dialogues between women and men, with some flirting in between. My childhood memories are of the ones sung in harvest season, during work.

How wonderful and fascinating! What part of Europe did you grow up in? Is that tradition still alive in modern day folk song creation there? Is there recordings or more writings about this music form and culture? I’d love to learn more. Thank you!

I was thinking of Portuguese fado, there’s quite a bit of fado corridinho which is traditionally a dispute between two singers (in much the same way as some hiphop duets!).
